I am so ready ....

to rest my feet after a busy Memorial Day Weekend.

Believe me, my youngest grand daughter, JD kept me on my feet most of the time.

And of course she was a big help with my garden.

But now I am really ...

ready to put the spaghetti on the blocking board!

Now which shawl should I finish next?

I love the faces ...

of those who love wearing what I knit.

So my DH and I went up to New Hampshire last Saturday to spend the day, pass out knitted gifts and enjoy the smiles.

Okay a couple of them got in there more than once. But those smiles were just so darn cute I just couldn't pick out the picture I liked the most. And I love ALL of those smiles!!

Including this couple ... even though he isn't wearing his knit socks in the picture, he wears them to bed.

I've got weekend plans ...

For the next few days I'll be working on this ...

Megan in progress

With only a break to take a ride to New Hampshire on Saturday to see [as my DH would say] the "Little Chickens". We haven't seen the Grandchildren in a long time. I miss them. I need my little munchikin fix!

So this little number will have to what.

.... and this one below too.

I'm not happy with it anyway and plan to frog back and start over.
But I've got enough to keep me busy ...

And I can only dream about butterflies right now.

'Coz there just is not enough time in one weekend!

The Knitting Goddess smiles upon me and says ...

Finish some projects!!!

Okay, okay ... another Juliet Scarf is done. This one in a Plum. I love this pattern as well as the yarn. Took me a week vs. the 4 days for the first one I knit tho. But it was a busy week.

Juliet Scarf #2

And I finished the Charlotte Purse I started in Louisa Harding's class/workshop.

Embellished purse

And of course I have to use up some of that Left-over yarn right? The Thalia must be used for some Elsie Mittens ... the none striping ones. The Embellished Mittens. I just have to stitch up the side of the 2nd mitten tonight. These 3 patterns come from Louisa Hardings' book, Knitting Little Luxuries: Beautiful Accessories to Knit.

What a NICE feeling mitten ...

Then I finally finished my Valour Vest from the Colourscape Collection.

And of course I had to spend some time with some of my Grandchildren on Thanksgiving Day. So while I did that, I put "pause" on my knitting gene ...

A whirlwind weekend ...

is exactly what I had.

Went up to New Hampshire to see the kiddos ...

NH Grandchildren

Love their funny faces and all!

Then the first Beginner's Crochet Class started on Sunday at Seed Stitch Fine Yarn. I'll be teaching the class for the next two Sundays as well. We're doing the Wave Scarf. My test crocheter, Sandy (blogless) from Hemet, CA sent me a picture of hers. Isn't it perrrty?

I'll show you a picture of our progress from the class after the 3rd & last class. There are 7 of us in all. Two hours went by really fast!

BTW, check out who will be at Seed Stitch on May 3rd.
Kristin Nicolas, author of Colorful Stitchery and Kristin Knits. I've already signed up for her lecture and workshop. The workshop is on "Learning to fringe while knitting, decorative embroidery, zipper installation, and duplicate stitches."
I'm looking forward to this!

And then of course I had to start something new. Had to buy new yarn for it too. Why not knit up "All Ruffled Up" by Champayne Maker? Seed Stitch just got some of her patterns and there are quite a few I've been wanting to do. So I'll knit this one first ...

Never mind the other WIP's for now, hey. All Ruffled Up

They're getting done slow but sure. Like the Mystic Shawl ...
I'm on clue 4 now Mystic Light Shawl after Clue 3
and this Wednesday is the 5th and last one.

And the others will wait for me. You remember the Einstein Coat?
Enstein Coat Not going anywhere.

Heaven forbid that I get this one done ... PDRM3647_edited

Tissue Cozies After all ... I have plenty of the Tissue Cozies to put together also.

Didn't stop me from buying more yarn at Seed Stitch tho ...
Sheep Shop Yarn Company
To make these Pretty Lace Handwarmers from the Purl Bee ...

And why not add to my sock yarn from Yarn Chef, huh?
Yarn Chef Yarn Chef

Just because it's pretty AND I couldn't help myself!

I'm obsessed with yarn. Whyyyyyyyyyy?

NH Grandchildren

Well I have more than one obsession I'm afraid!

Christmas added to my stash ...

Since the Holidays are now over I should up date you all on a few of the interesting goodies I got.

First, a lovely oil painting by our son in law, Mike.

gift from our son inlaw

You know how I love Art (all kinds) and artistic talent and receiving a gift by the talented person who did it themselves is one of the best gifts ever. [well after all, they might get something homemade from me also] Isn't this oil painting beautiful? Now we have to find the right spot for it in our home and I'm thinking ... the Dining Room.

And here's a beautiful gift the DH gave me for Christmas... well he gave me the Gift Certificate from Seed Stitch Fine Yarn and this shawl pin jumped right into my basket along with all the yarn I got on sale.

What yarn did you say?

Adrienne Vittadini Carmela Cashmere Grignasco Cashmere PDRM2705_edited Organik
and three different colors of Lamb's Pride ... Lambs Pride
Never mind how many skeins, LOL. Especially the Cashmere ... you'll just have to check it out in Ravelry or wait until I finally knit up some FO's.

Now I REALLY have to stop shopping! Honestly, a gift certificate for the right place just burns a hole in my pocket and drags some green stuff right along with it. Even plastic can be affected.

So while I work on the next project, here's an up date of me with a few of the grandkids taken at out little family Christmas party.

Aren't they absolutely adorable?

The girls all got Knitted Sock earrings from me and note that they're even wearing them for the picture. And even the slippers I made for the Munchkin fit. They stayed on her feet the whole day too.

PDRM2610_edited

So if the Munchkin and her gang are happy with what they got it's now time for me to get down to business and make some FO's appear for 2008.

Happy New Year!

[Late on the New Year's cheer but the new year doesn't start for me until my Birthday ... Tomorrow!] ;-)

I just got the best birthday gift ever ... a call from a sister to let me know that Dad has been off the ventilator for 24 hours now and the doctors say that his condition is "this side of a miracle" ... just what we've been praying for. He may be out of ICCU soon. Of course he's not out of the woods and things are still serious, but this time 2 weeks ago we thought we'd be facing something totally different. There are choices that our Dad needs to make and we would rather they be his choices and that he's at home to make them. We love you Dad!

Sweet Sixteen ...

I have to share the pictures I took this past Saturday in New Hampshire. It was Catie's "Sweet 16" birthday. And of course, most of my other Sweeties were there also!

Wait .... is that my little Jayden running down the hall with the blanket I made for her when she was just newly born? Ah ... how fast they grow.

Psst, Jayden slow down ... you've got plenty of time. Jayden on the move
