Moving right along in the Knit-mosphere...

I completed the pattern: Ragg Cape and Hat by Bernat Design Studio. [check out the link for the free pattern from Bernat]

ragg jacket

I'll show you how it fits tomorrow night after getting some pictures while I'm at Community Knitting. Here's the detailed specks for right now.

Needle and yarn
US 8 / 5.0 mm
US 10 / 6.0 mm
: Bernat Softee Chunky Solids & Marls
How much? 7 skeins = 1148.0 yards (1049.7m)
: grey ragg.
For acrylic yarn it wasn't too bad to knit with at all. [So now I know I'm not a yarn snob!! - Truth be known: I love most yarns. Just ask my Stash.] The pattern was fun to do. I might knit it again using another yarn if I love wearing this one. There's a new stock of yarn at Seed Stitch Fine Yarn from Kertzer called Accents. Although I need a chunky. I think it would be nice in this pattern for those lightly cooler Fall nights if I double it up to get a chunky weight. It contains 75% acrylic & 25% wool ... a denim color would be nice. Or a dark blue. Have to check out the colors & how much I'd need. Not that I don't have enough to do already ...

And look at what came in the mail from a sweet knitter friend on Ravelry for my granddaughter, Jayden.

buttons to go on a felted hat I'm going to put those buttons on a felted hat called Pixie-Doodle by Lisa Cruse ... and of course there'll be a few Cat In the Hat books included for her. She loves to be read too. Christmas planning ... which will be started soon.

Did I tell you this was from a knitter? A knitting angel of course. Well she also included a box of goodies for me. Me.

gifts from a knitter to ME

Gosh, I love my stitching friends!!

Now it's back to work on my projects in progress ...

A wonderful weekend!

At last we have some sun ALL weekend! Comfortable temperatures and it's easy to find a reason to get out and about. Went Antiquing with the kids ... a DD and SIL up the seacoast thru Essex into Gloucester. Sat outside on a deck at Periwinkles in Essex, MA for lunch.

And of course I spent a little money in a couple of the antique stores. They're not antiques, but one is old and the other is funny. [with wool appliqué too] Since I live in Salem, MA, I thought we needed a couple of black cats.

It was also a great weekend to finish a couple of projects. The first one was completed out on the back patio while I sat in the morning sun. That was before we got the call to go antiquing ... and I got a quick picture. I must knit a pair of sock earrings to go with these also!

Ah spring ... I finally got to see the crocus open up before they pass on until next Spring.

Oh ya ... I've got YARN PORN too!

Got my recent purchases out so that I can make my plans on the next two projects to get working on. One for at home and the other while commuting on the train, remember? I'd like to start a Summer sweater shell, but I also want to work on a special project for a friend and still work on socks while commuting. Ah, what to do, what to do? Well for you're enjoyment, here are a bunch of pictures to get your taste buds going and work up an appetite to knit more ...
And this one is for you, Rhonda. Happy National Sheep Day!

I'm hoping someone will add to my flock, 'coz other than the pocketbook and my measuring tape, this is the only sheep I have. [Yup, Haddy I knit her myself. Has a sister still on the needles too.] But I can't imagine anyone having as many as Rhonda at Knit Obession does. I don't even think I have enough room for that many.

What size flock do you have? Go ahead ... Show Me Your Sheep!

I told you I would tell you about my weekend mail right?

Well ...
adding to my stash, BUT already on the needles ...

sock yarn for more SOCKS!

The first delivery was Sundara Yarn and The Petals Collections Sock Club. This is the 2nd delivery and the yarn is called Bird of Paradise. I love it!

This yarn is so nice and the pattern looked so interesting and shouted out "SPRING!" that I cast on right away and have 'em in my "train knitting bag" right now. Already half done with the first sock ... really!

Isn't this just yummy looking? The colors could also be called Raspberry, Orange, Lemon & Lime Sherbert.

And then there was MORE sock yarn!

Spoiler Alert ~~ 2007 Rockin' Sock Club Kit pictures ~~

Don't Scroll if You Don't Want to See it ... remember I warned you!

:o ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

The timing was right and I received Blue Moon's first of 2007's Socks that Rock Club yarn package ... I was a little underwhelmed with the colorway tho. Too dark for Spring ... and I'm wanting Spring here soon girls.

The colorway is called Monsoon and it is medium weight. Nice, but this yarn is beautiful in the sense that it is so wonderful to knit with but not so much to wear with Spring or Summer cheerful colors. So I'll be casting on with the idea I'll wear 'em next Fall maybe?

And then I got some St. Patrick's Day mail from my friend, Sammie in Georgia. One of her fabric postcards. I love getting these! Isn't it cute?

And what are those little white and black things falling out of another envelope? Right there on the counter top by the postcard?

Oooooo, sheep buttons!

Those were from Sammie also. Too cute. I will defiantly find something to do with those Sam. Thank you, thank you for the goodies. You are so kind and thoughtful and I love being spoiled. .....

Well I better get back to knitting my socks and spoiling my feet!
